Naomi talks about the challenges of structuring and balancing her days and weeks when working as an independent artist and the ways in which she’s cracked the mental health code of this for herself.
Interview: Peter Lalish – musician (multi-instrumentalist and songwriter): currently of the massive indie breakout band Lucius (if you haven’t heard of them, you’ve heard them) and the more newly formed Uni Ika Ai – comes on the show to talk about life as a musician. He and Naomi and explore the ways in which their experiences as artists in their “middle years” in two different mediums converge and differ and how being a successful performer doesn’t always mean the stage fright goes away.
Favorite Thing This Week: Gabrielle Bernstein’s The Universe Has Your Back – a book of spiritual thoughts and exercises that Naomi has been finding – although sometimes a little overly “woo-woo” – incredibly grounding and helpful in finding a peace and joy in the chaos of the work.
As always, the work of this podcast is for Naomi to help you and herself crack the nut of how to have a life as an artist and entrepreneur, so if you have stories to share from your own life – successes, failures, times you learned something – or if you have a question you would like Naomi to answer or find the answer to or a person you would like her to interview – send them all her way.
