Interview: Naomi talks to the marvelous writer/actress/director/sometimes-producer Hannah Cheesman about getting her web-series Whatever, Linda turned into a TV show, writing for Canada’s biggest TV show Workin’ Moms, and what a path through self-doubt has taught her. Hannah is the co-creator, writer, and star of Whatever, Linda, which is currently being adapted for TV by the Mark Gordon Company. Hannah’s short film Cheese has shown at festivals around the globe, including Cannes’ Coup De Coeur and Palm Springs, and has sold in Canada (CBC), France (Salaud Morisette/RADI) and Japan (Pacific Voice), most recently winning Devour! Festival’s Best Short prize. You can find more about her and her projects at http://hannahcheesman.com/
Favorite Thing This Week: Michael Roderick – producer and networker extraordinaire – in general and particularly his new daily newsletter offering tips designed for artists, but useful for most anyone who is an entrepreneur or person in the world, on such topics as how to meaningfully connect with and build relationships with a community. You can sign up for that here and find out more about him here.
As always, the work of this podcast is for Naomi to help you and herself crack the nut of how to have a life as an artist and entrepreneur, so if you have stories to share from your own life – successes, failures, times you learned something – or if you have a question you would like Naomi to answer or find the answer to or a person you would like her to interview – send them all her way.
